SEO is worth its weight in gold

June 1, 2008 at 03:10 AM
Much like how companies used to put a bunch of A’s at the beginning of their name to make it to the front of the phone book, SEO plays just as big of a roll. A company that is in top of the ranking for the keywords that they have can enjoy the added attention that it obtains in more visitors to their website.
The problem with SEO work is that it can be both encumber some and also difficult to perform. Unlike the past where a person could just write material that was rich with the SEO keywords, now there are many other factors that play a roll. Another avenue that used to be used was purchasing a rank, yet this now has a smaller roll than it once had. Many companies have seen that it is better to devote the resources to having their site enhanced for SEO criteria than to just pay an insane amount to a search engine.
Many companies have seen that they have been able to have substantial increases in revenue when they have had a higher ranking. The added advantage to this is that the increase in visits and transactions has also helped the company establish their brand more. In simple terms, this attracts repeat customers and residual sales in the future. Companies that have been able to attract the customers have seen a small company develop into something profound in a much shorter time than they would have had in the past. The increase combined with the lower overhead has made ecommerce a wave of the future.
In the past year there was a twenty percent increase in Internet transactions. This has hurt the companies that have physical storefronts, yet has also opened a new area of marketing and sales.
SEO has been a proven tool in increasing the amount of traffic that a site gains. Even if many of the visitors are not customers initially, that doesn’t mean they will not be in the future. There is impulse buying and also the fact that they now know where to go when they need the wares that you offer. This can provide a consumer base that was not there before and also a higher potential of clients in the future.
Companies were considered to be successful if they were showing any form of profit after the first six months of being in production. This timetable has dropped significantly when the company is on the Internet. The competition is fierce in the virtual world, but so are the rewards if a company is willing to take both the risk and the needed preparations to be a contender for the clients that are there. With the number of consumers that are using the Internet growing and the fact that there are potential global consumers as well makes the internet a tool that exceeds what anyone had hoped for. The one drawback is that you have to be noticed, and that is where SEO is a resource that can make all the difference.

This is an excellent read, having top rankings is a must if you are trading online. I only paid just over £100 for my website, I knew it could make some good money; I just needed to get traffic to the site. After doing some light on page Seo, directory submission and some banner ads, the site now makes a good profit.
