Yearly or Permanent Submissions

Web Directory submission is usually based on yearly or permanent submission fees, most people prefer permanent as payment only needs to be paid once. The downside to this is submissions fees are usually high and maybe too much for the average submitter, you also need to decide if it’s worth paying a high review cost to one Web Directory when you could submit to lots more for less. If you own a fairly new website you may be better off going for the latter.
Yearly Fees are usually cheaper this can benefit the website owner as it’s more affordable and you can see what you are getting for your money. If you feel that the directory is no longer worth the money simply cancel your subscription and let your link expire.
Web Directory owners should decide the length of the submission as both come with positives and negatives. Some website owners will be put off from submitting a website if you charge yearly fee, one big advantage from a Directory owner point of view is yearly fee is the recurring payments. A big disadvantage is the loss of content if links aren’t renewed; a better way would be to make featured links yearly and reduces it to regular listings when the year is up. Web Directory owners should always clearly state the terms on the submission form, its equally important for submitters to read terms before submitting.
